Beer Bop-a-Lula

Reigate Inaugural Beer and Music Festival.

In the summer of 2019 Reigate, Surrey had its first beer and music festival, Beer Bop-a-Lula, based in Priory Park over a three day period it was the first time Reigate hosted a festival like this. Self described as ‘A little ‘Nirvana’ in Surrey where quintessentially English meets rock, pop, folk and indie.’ It showcased talent such as high energy cover band ‘Furnace and the Fundamentals’ and ‘The Mariachis’, as well as the main stage there was a ‘Reigate Introducing’ stage setup for upcoming local bands such as Toffees, Emnibis and Southbank Crows.

There’s something about hosting a festival based around beer in Reigate, its brewing history makes it the perfect town to host an event like this, Mellersh and Neale, once one of the largest breweries outside of London was based in Reigate and the oldest microbrewery in the South East, Pilgrim Brewery, lives just off Reigate high street.

Reigate also boasts a wide array of independent businesses, food trucks were situated around the vicinity of Beer Bop-A-Lula, making it a town within a town. The craft beers were flowing, the homemade food truck grub was filling the air with sweet and spice and the sun was shining. What more could you ask for!?
